Scope of the Role:

An opportunity has arisen for a Applications Support Analyst within Business Applications Team. This 6-month or 9-month job placement is ideal for a student completing their third level education in Information Technology. This placement will offer the successful candidate experience on IT project delivery, from inception of the concept to delivery and implementation. They will support the process of business change, improvement and efficiency by working with business leaders, process owners and relevant stakeholders to understand and deliver business needs. They will gain exposure and experience in UAT, troubleshooting, on-going support, change management and more. It is the ideal opportunity for someone who wishes to pursue a career as a Business Analyst, Consultant or IT Project Manager.

Mercury’s Business Applications Team sits within Group IT, acting as a liaison between the department and the business to address and improve business processes through leveraging software and digital offerings. The team is comprised of several analysts of varying experience levels, including several Business Analysts, Project Managers and an Adoption Analyst. These analysts work alongside all departments and business units within Mercury, aiding with the identification, selection and ultimately the delivery of technology related projects.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:


•    Ticketing System
o    Overall responsibility to maintaining ticketing desk for the team
o    Review business issues 
o    Conduct initial troubleshoot
o    Resolve issue where possible 
•    Requirements Workshops
o    Support the BA on requirements elicitation workshops
o    Accurately document and maintain minutes, actions and logs
o    Coordinate stakeholders for further workshops
o    Involvement in requirements discussions 
•    Assist in the identification of potential solutions
o    Conduct market research
o    Participate in demos and calls with external providers 
o    Assist with functionality assessment and evaluation
•    Support BA in creation of documentation such as RFI, RFP, etc
•    Complete minor change requests in BPM tool
•    Manage and assign permissions and access for a range of software
•    Testing

o    Assist BA in creation of test scripts
o    Execute test cases
o    Identify bugs and aid resolution
o    Aid in coordinating UAT with business owners 
•    Cutover & Adoption
o    Involvement in cutover activities
o    Aid the development of launch and adoption plans
o    Coordinate and oversee adoption plan rollout
o    Create and deliver range of training in the form of workshops, guides, videos etc
•    Software Contract alignment to ensure Terms & Conditions are adhered to
•    Invoice management for the team

o    Requisition creation
o    Coordination of bid waivers / competitive quotes alignment to procurement process
o    Goods Receipting
•    Promote the role of the BA and Business Applications Team throughout the organisation 


The Successful Candidate: Skillsets & Experience

•    Natural ability for planning, coordinating and organising
•    Excellent written and oral communication skills
•    Attention to detail is a must
•    Ability to work on multiple tasks and varying tasks on a daily basis 
•    Proficiency in MS Outlook, Teams and OneDrive is preferable
•    Knowledge of SharePoint would be a distinct advantage, but not essential
