Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Management of Electrical Site Safety and QA in conjunction with the project team and the Mercury Safety Advisor, making sure that the works follow the health and safety guidelines.
- Management of Project Schedule in conjunction with Mercury Project team, consulting Engineer and Client requirements Information reporting will be an essential activity to ensure activity targets/deadlines are met to support the project team.
- Management of all costs associated with electrical packages and that all materials and equipment are being purchased and delivered to site on schedule. Manage project budgets, monitor costs, forecast expenses, and process change orders
- Management of all day-to-day site operations for Electrical contractors including tracking progress against schedule and manpower levels. Ensure that there is a weekly minute meeting with sub-contractor.
- Attendance at Site Meetings, Internal Project Reviews, Engineering Reviews, Planning and Co-ordination Meetings and Handover Meetings
- Close out of all project items including Final Account, O & M Manuals, Punch List, Safety File, QA File, third party inspections and handing over letters.
- To support the engineering requirements through managing & liaising with Key Project Stakeholders (Client design team, Main contractors, Suppliers, Sub-contractors, direct procured vendors, etc.).
- Review of drawings and specifications and Familiarisation of Design/IFC specifications and drawings to fully understand the scope of the Project works. Overseeing the Co-ordination process to transform design information into full installation drawings by BIM personnel ensuring spec compliance and as per schedule priority. This will require generation/management of Requests for Information (RFI) and management of technical submittals during Electrical design development.
- Technical responsibility for Quality associated with design deliverables as well as the technical submittals/ as Builts and all associated O&M’s.
- To manage the quality needs for all electrical packages on site, providing guidance to ensure we are compliant to all relevant standards/codes and specifications associated. This will include all site activities associated with validation and handover to the client.
- Preparing and managing the scope of work for Mercury sub contractors objectives, timelines, and budgets and Operate within the commercial constraints of the project scope document.
- Assist in evaluating tenders and cost analysis of electrical packages.
- Report where required to the Project Manager and Commercial Manager on schedule and cost implications of Engineering designs and changes.
- Lead and motivate project teams, delegate tasks, and coordinate with engineers, liaising with the team on all levels, electricians, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure efficient workflow.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and performance as linked to electrical packages.
- Prepare and share regular progress reports and reports delays and issues.
- Identify and manage project risks (through risk review meetings) in order to deliver the projects within all stakeholders expectations
- Liaising with key Project Stakeholders to deliver all aspects of assigned projects safely, on time and within budget.
- Develop Project Execution strategies, specifically with respect to QEHS standards.
- Develop and implement Project Schedules in accordance with key milestones.
- co-ordinating with all trades and other works.
- Develop and Track Project Labour Histograms including weekly project indicators.
- Develop and monitor material procurement schedules in accordance with schedule requirements.
- Select and appoint Project Sub-contractors and Supply chain in conjunction with Project teams and specifications
- Attendance at client / project management meetings.
- Coordinate and develop test and commissioning procedures
- Compliance with Mercury Engineering’s Code of Conduct.
Essential Criteria for the Role:
- A trade and/or relevant third qualification
- 5-10 years previous experience in Project Management
- Proven record of co-ordinating and managing large installation projects
- Experience dealing with IR issues
- Knowledge Health & Safety
- Experience in design and build
- Good Technical Knowledge of both Electrical and Mechanical systems
- Excellent IT Skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and within a strict deadline environment
- Ability to drive a large-scale project
