Key Responsibilities of the Role: 

 

  • Manage the co-ordination of the Civil, Structural and Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical and Life Safety work packages. 

  • Management of Site Safety in conjunction with Mercury Safety Advisor, including set up, management of and closing out of file 

  • Management of Site QA in conjunction with Mercury Project Manager and team including set up, management and close out of file 

  • Management of Project Schedule in conjunction with Planner, Project Managers, Sub-Contractors and consulting Engineer/Architect to Mercury Engineering and Client requirements 

  • Facilitate the adherence to schedule on the project through DABs meetings and on-site actions 

  • Knowledge of package budgets. Drive good value through efficient performance and continuity of work for Supply chain. 

  • Management of costs associated with Project Logistics and maintenance of the project including: 

  • Labour 

  • Material 

  • Plant and Equipment 

  • Variations 

  • Valuations 

  • Control of all day-to-day site operations within schedule 

  • Management of sub-contractor activities including tracking progress against schedule. Ensure manpower levels are adequate. 

  • Ensure Sub-Contractor meetings are being completed and recorded 

  • White Board 

  • DABS 

  • Weekly Progress/Construction meeting 

  • Quality, Environmental. Health and Safety 

  • Ensure site administrator has all Sub-contractor documentation including safety documentation is maintained up to date and filed for future reference. 

  • Attendance at Site Meetings, Internal Project Reviews, Engineering Reviews, Planning and Co-ordination Meetings and Handover Meetings 

  • Close out of project items including, Punch List, Safety File, QA File, Material and Plant re-locations – all with the Support of your Project team 

  • Issue Daily Report on BIM 360 to the Project Manager 

  • Ensure that Project Administrator issues weekly safety stats & project labour projections. 

  • Hold weekly commercial meetings with the commercial team to ensure all variations are being captured and costs issued to the client. 

  • Develop and implement company procedures with the project managers 

  • Review drawings and setting out details 

  • Produce builders works drawings for services 

  • Carry out distribute & close out snags ensuring Room Readiness. 

  • All other duties associated with this role. 

  

Essential Criteria for the Role: 

 

  • A minimum of 10 years as a Mechanical Construction Manager 

  • Good strong knowledge of the full design and construction process 

  • Ability to control and manage people and programs  

  • A trade background or a relevant third level qualification 

  • Proven record of co-ordinating and managing large projects 

  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Ability to work well under pressure and within a strict deadline environment  

  • Ability to drive a large-scale project 

  • Computer skills - Windows, MS Office, and MS Project
