Scope of the Role:
The trade foreman is the lead tradesperson on the job and coordinates the activities of the personnel within his or her team. It is the foreman’s responsibility to ensure that all work is delivered safely and of flawless quality. It is also this person’s job to make sure that all productivity targets are met. Priority will always be:
1. Safety.
2. Quality.
3. Productivity and Schedule
Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Safety -Champion safety within your work crew & ensure a safe working environment All effected by the activities of your work crew.
- Quality/Lean - All lines or other subsection of work that is being offered to QA as complete must be free from all snags.
- Productivity/Schedule Engage with the planning team / white board owner to ensure that daily and weekly work plans are accurate; appropriate and that there is a high confidence level that commitments will be achieved.
- Deliver or lead the toolbox talks.
- The foreman will spend the majority of his or her time in the field. The white board sessions are expected to take about 20/30 mins per day, and there is likely to be another 30 mins per day in various planning/scheduling activities.
- Present a weekly report as per below. This should not take more than 1 hour per week to produce.
- The Foreman report will be signed off by his supervisor each week and issued to project administration.
- The report will be compiled by project administration and issued to Senior Management by COB on the following Monday.
- It is the responsibility of Management above the role of Foremen to ensure that ALL information, materials, equipment, training and safety procedures are in place to allow the Foremen and their Work Crews to deliver a safe, quality and productive week’s work.
Essential Criteria for the Role:
- A trade qualification
- Good Computer skills in word, excel etc.
- Fluent English
- Flexible to travel
- Proven record of co-ordinating and managing large projects
- A minimum of 5 years in a Supervision role
Desirable Criteria:
- Excellent communication skills
- Team player with ability to build effective relationships at all levels
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work well within a friendly team
- Career driven, ambitious and enthusiastic
- Ability to work well under pressure and within a strict deadline environment
- Ability to drive a large-scale project
- A construction background
- Good Computer skills - Windows, MS Office
