Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Work with the project controls lead and project teams to open and close projects within the business in line with company policy and procedures.
  • Report to the project controls lead on commercial and construction risk that you become aware of on all projects.
  • Run monthly project review cycle for selected projects, working with the project teams to ensure that projects are reported monthly in line with group procedures.
  • Liaise with and support project teams with project reporting, cost control and management of project risk in line with company policy and procedures.
  • Ensure that Key stakeholders are updated on project risks and opportunities and the commercial implications associated with projects.
  • Review and comment on Margin sign off files submitted for projects. Work with the project team to ensure that figures submitted are accurate and that they are a true reflection of the commercial position on the project.
  • Consider all risks for project at Margin sign off stage and ensure the teams are aware of these risks throughout the project.
  • Support the project teams in their preparation and management of the Project Management Plan (PMP)
  • Identify projects that carry the greatest commercial risk each month and work with the project teams outside of the monthly review cycle time to reduce these risks.
  • Identify members of the commercial teams who are weak on their standard of commercial reporting, work with them to improve their reporting capabilities.
  • Work with project controls teams on Group reporting monthly and yearly reporting cycle.
  • Support commercial teams on their quarterly forecast cycle. Work with the teams to ensure forecasts are an accurate reflection of the projects potential outcome.
  • All other works associated with the role.

 

Essential Criteria for the Role:

  • Quantity Surveyor (QS Degree) qualified and or  3+ years relevant experience in the industry
  • Experience with the use of Excel is essential
  • Experience with the use of Power BI and SAP would be beneficial but not necessary
  • Excellent Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
