Scope of the Role:
- Joining a finance graduate program is an essential first step in building a career in finance, learning the key skills in various areas of finance within the business while also increasing your knowledge through the professional exams.
- The right candidate will have a career plan that includes obtaining a professional qualification in finance and accountancy. As they learn about the industry, Mercury itself, and the key areas of their roles they will also ensure they put the time and effort into their studies to ensure successful and timely progression through their various professional exam like supporting with ACCA.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Exposure to the business all aspects of the company's financial and operational systems.
- As a Finance Graduate, you will be responsible for the general ledger maintenance which will go towards ensuring that Mercury achieves its internal goal and manages the expectation of our internal projects.
- Responsible for assisting in the completion of month/end financial reporting which will be reviewed and approved by senior managers.
- Responsible for the monthly reconciliation of balance sheet and payroll along with intercompany accounting support.
- Responsible for analysing financial information across multiple business groups to prepare and generate reports.
- Utilise findings in order to manage financial expectations for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in completion of statutory year end accounts, audits and all regulatory filings.
- Work with other departments on various projects and initiative.
- Completion and review of financial reconciliations (bank, creditor etc.).
- Work with both internal and external stakeholders in order to obtain
- Opportunities to work within the area of accounts receivable and our SAP Concur expense teams
- All other ad-hoc duties as required by making use of fewer financial resources and team member.
Selection Criteria / Person Specification:
Essential
- Ideally 2:1 Honours Degree / Expected 2:1 in Finance or Accounting
- Level 8 or relevant bachelor’s degree
- Career plan that includes obtaining a professional qualification in finance and accountancy
- Good communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
- Adaptable and solutions driven
- Able to work in a team environment
- Pride in the quality and presentation of work
- Good organization & coordination skills
- Skills in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint with an interest in advancing those skills to a high level
