Scope of the Role:
As an Electrical QAQC Engineer you are required to help in the delivery of a zero defect / zero rework projects. Our quality goal is “Zero snags at the time of handover to our client”. You are required to help deliver your department goals in a forward looking and controlled manner.
Key Responsibilities of the Role:
1. Quality Management System (QMS) Oversight
- Implement and maintain the Mercury QMS in compliance with Mercury SOPs.
- Assist in the development of any project specific QA work procedures.
- Assist in the development of any project specific ITPs.
- Hold Quality Induction Workshops to promote awareness of the project specific requirements.
- Work closely with engineering, operations, and project management teams.
2. Inspection & Compliance
- Conduct and record surveillance / in progress inspections of all work carried out in on the project.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE), customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct audits and inspections of electrical products and systems
3. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and verify quality documentation, including inspection reports and certifications.
- Conduct and record final inspections on all work carried out on the project.
4. Continuous Improvement
- Develop and monitor KPIs to drive quality improvements.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for defects and failures.
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S methodologies to optimize processes.
Essential Criteria for the Role:
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and standards.
- Proficiency in Quality Management Systems (QMS) and KPI development.
- Experience with internal audits, corrective/preventive actions, and compliance documentation.
- Familiarity with calibration systems, test plans, and quality documentation.
Desirable Criteria:
- Attention to detail – critical for identifying defects and ensuring compliance.
- Effective communication – to liaise with production, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
- Problem-solving – proactive in identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
- Adaptability & continuous improvement mindset – driving innovation in QA processes.
