Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • · Install, terminate Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, Cat7 copper cabling
  • · Install, terminate and patch fibre optic cabling
  • · Capable of testing copper cabling installation
  • · Capable of testing fibre cabling installation
  • · Troubleshoot cabling faults
  • · Produce test results and handover documentation
  • · Understand cabling drawings and schematics
  • · Rack and stack IT and telecoms equipment
  • · Patch and manage network connections
  • · Support network upgrades and migrations
  • · Install containment systems (cable tray / trunking)
  • · Read and understand project specifications
  • · Label and document installation to project specifications
  • · Provide daily and weekly progress reports
  • · Follow Health and Safety procedures
  • · Ability to communicate clearly with Project Manager / Project supervisor and other trades on site
  • · Support commissioning teams and project handover
  • · Attention to detail
  • · Problem solving under pressure
  • · All other duties associated with the role

 

Essential Criteria for the Role:

  • · Ability to work on own initiative.
  • · Excellent attention to detail

 

Desirable Criteria:

  • · Experience in structured cabling systems
  • · A minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role
  • · Electrical knowledge & experience gained by either a trade or academic background
  • · Excellent communication skills
