Ireland Trade Minister visits Mercury Data Centre Project in the Netherlands

On Wednesday 30 October 2019, as part of a two day trade mission to the Netherlands led by Ireland’s Minister of State for Trade, Employment, Business, EU Digital Single Market and Data Protection, Pat Breen, the delegation visited the Interxion AMS8/10 campus to meet with the Interxion Managing Director, Michel van den Assem and Mercury Managing Director Enterprise Data Centres, Alan Gorman to understand how the collaboration between Interxion and Mercury has been working to date.

The delegation received a presentation from Alan on Mercury’s journey so far contracting directly to the client in the Data Centre market across the European market. A tour of the recently completed Data Centres followed the presentations. The other members of the delegation where:

  • Ms. Sinead Ryan, Private Secretary to Minister
  • Mr. Ronnie Breen, Special Adviser to Minister
  • Mr. Stephen Creaner, Executive Director Enterprise Ireland
  • Mrs. Anne Lanigan, Regional Director Enterprise Ireland
  • Mr. Patrick Torrekens, Branch Manager Benelux Enterprise Ireland
  • Mr. Richard Engelkes, Sr. Market Advisor Enterprise Ireland

Mercury have almost 700 staff working on its European Data Centre projects, including c. 350 staff working abroad and a diverse group of staff consisting of 26 different nationalities overall.
