Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Carry out the installation, maintenance, and repair of sprinkler systems.
  • Service fire pumps and associated drivers.
  • Troubleshoot faults within Fire Water Pump Rooms.
  • Drain and refill sprinkler systems safely and efficiently.
  • Operate fire pumps and associated fire alarm interfaces.
  • Interpret and work from sprinkler system drawings and specifications.
  • Lead maintenance and installation activities when required and work effectively on own initiative.
  • Liaise with clients and maintain positive working relationships on site.
  • Ensure all works are completed in accordance with LPC and FM sprinkler standards and regulations.
  • Travel to various project and client sites as required.
  • Participate in out-of-hours works when necessary to support operational requirements.

 

Essential Criteria for the Role:

  • Proven experience as a Sprinkler Pipe Fitter / Fire Protection Maintenance Technician.
  • Strong knowledge of all types of sprinkler systems.
  • Experience servicing fire pumps and associated equipment.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and fault-finding experience within Fire Water Pump Rooms.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good understanding of LPC and FM sprinkler rules and standards.
  • National Craft Certificate or equivalent trade qualification.
  • Full clean driver's licence.
  • Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification.
  • Flexibility to travel and work outside normal working hours when required.

 

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience in a fire protection maintenance environment.
  • Experience leading small teams or acting as a lead fitter.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm interfaces associated with sprinkler systems.
  • Experience working across multiple client sites and live operational environments
