Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Overall control of BIM/VDC management for the BU (Building Information Modelling/Virtual design & Construction)
- Develops and improves the Standard operating procedures for BIM management in the BU
- Finds and recruits BIM managers to fill Project level positions both internally and externally
- Trains and educates new and existing staff in BIM and Coordination methods and procedures
- Finds and hires BIM consultants to work on projects in multiple regions
- Builds and maintains relationships with BIM consultants
- Keeping up to date with changing building legislation and codes of practice relating to BIM and coordination
- Works with the Central engineering team to have a joined-up approach to BIM and coordination from tender process, preconstruction, construction and handover.
- Ensure training and compliance with ISO 19650
Project Management & Planning
- Manage BIM engineers/leads/managers on all data centre assigned projects
- Manage multi-disciplinary BIM models for projects across the data centre group
- Manage all BIM trackers as agreed with the Senior Engineering Manager/Engineering Director
- Oversee the BIM process to ensure adherence to design specifications and schedules.
- Assist in developing BIM delivery schedules along with the client, project manager, design team and consultants.
- Check BIM delivery programmes on projects are aligned to consultant resource and construction/ procurement requirements.
- Conduct site visits when required to review BIM related challenges
- Engage regularly with Doc Control team to ensure correct management of asset naming
- Correctly follow information control and flow standards e.g. use of BIM360/ACC, etc.
BIM Strategy & Governance
- Develop, implement, and maintain the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) in line with client standards, ISO 19650, and project-specific requirements.
- Define model authoring standards, naming conventions, LOD/LOI requirements, and data exchange protocols.
- Ensure BIM workflows support GMP, GxP, and validation processes.
CSA/MEP Coordination
- Manage and coordinate mechanical (HVAC, process utilities, cleanroom systems) and electrical (power, lighting, BMS, ELV) models.
- Lead clash detection, model federation, and spatial coordination across CSA/MEP, architectural, structural, and process models.
- Drive resolution of design and constructability issues in collaboration with engineering and site teams.
Project Delivery Support
- Support projects from concept and detailed design through fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
- Oversee the development of fabrication-level models suitable for modular construction and off-site manufacture.
- Align BIM outputs with construction sequencing, installation logic, and site constraints.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management - Act as the primary BIM interface with clients, design consultants, equipment vendors, and subcontractors.
- Review and integrate vendor and OEM models, ensuring compliance with project BIM standards.
- Facilitate BIM coordination meetings and technical workshops.
Digital Engineering & Data Management
- Ensure accurate asset data capture to support commissioning, handover, and FM integration.
- Manage model data alignment with CMMS, CAFM, and digital twin requirements where applicable.
- Support use of BIM for 4D, 5D, and construction planning as required by the project.
Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Perform regular model audits to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with BIM and regulatory standards.
- Perform regular clash detection audits of project models
- Promote best practices in BIM, automation, and digital delivery within the project and organisation.
- Mentor BIM coordinators and engineers, contributing to skills development and standardisation.
Other
- Provide technical guidance and support to construction teams.
- Assist with recruitment activities for the Central Engineering team as deemed suitable.
- Undertake other BIM/engineering tasks or duties as required by the Manager, Engineering Director and/ or Company.

Essential Criteria for the Role:
Technical
- Strong experience managing BIM on Data centres or regulated industrial projects.
- Expert knowledge of MEP systems and their coordination within complex facilities.
- Proficiency in Revit , CADworx or Plant3D , Navisworks, and common CDE platforms (e.g. ACC, ProjectWise).
- Solid understanding of LOD/LOI, ISO 19650, and BIM for fabrication and construction.
Industry & Regulatory
- Working knowledge of GMP, cleanroom design principles, and validation requirements.
- Experience supporting modular construction and off-site fabrication is highly desirable.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
