Role Overview
Mercury is expanding its operations across the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) and is seeking a Supply Chain Sourcing Specialist based in Frankfurt am Main - Germany to strengthen and grow our supplier and subcontractor network. This role focuses on identifying, engaging, and onboarding vendors across compulsory trades to support project delivery for data centres, pharma, semiconductors, fire protection, and ICT/Comms.
The role is highly operational and relationship driven, leveraging Mercury’s internal BI tools and supplychain dashboards to guide sourcing priorities.
Key Responsibilities of the Role:
1. Vendor Sourcing & Market Engagement
- Identify and prequalify suppliers/subcontractors across required trades using internal BI insights, project requests, and supply‑chain priorities.
- Explore and map supplier ecosystems in Austria and Switzerland to support market expansion.
- Engage directly with potential vendors to validate capabilities, capacity, and alignment to Mercury standards.
2. Supply Chain Gap Support
- Use insights already available from BI dashboards (workload, performance, capacity, category coverage) to understand where new vendors are needed.
- Support category and project teams by sourcing vendors for identified gaps or overloaded trades.
- Circulate clear summaries of supplier options and market findings internally.
3. Vendor Meetings & Information Flow
- Attend supplier meetings (virtual and in‑person) to assess fit and gather commercial/technical information.
- Prepare concise visit reports and share key updates with commercial, procurement, and project teams.
- Build long‑term professional relationships to ensure reliable supply-chain access in the region.
4. Onboarding & Compliance Coordination
- Support suppliers through Mercury’s onboarding process (prequalification, HSQE documentation, commercial forms).
- Ensure all vendor information is complete and compliant before tender or engagement.
- Collaborate closely with commercial, legal, and HSQE teams.
5. Industry Events & Trade Shows
- Represent Mercury at trade fairs, supplier forums, and industry networking events across the DACH region.
- Identify emerging vendors, technologies, or specialist services relevant to upcoming projects.
Key Requirements of the Role:
Experience & Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, vendor management, or supply chain roles background in construction, MEP, engineering, or mission critical sectors.
- Understanding of basic technical concepts (MEP, CSA scopes, datasheets, specifications).
- Familiarity with procurement procedures, subcontracting workflows, and compliance requirements.
Tools & Systems
- Comfortable using BI tools and structured dashboard insights (no advanced analytics expected).
- Proficient with Excel, SharePoint, and general reporting tools.
Personal Attributes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable meeting suppliers, conducting capability reviews, and presenting Mercury’s value proposition.
- Organised, reliable, and able to manage sourcing tasks across several trades and countries.
- Team oriented with a collaborative and proactive attitude.
Other Requirements
- Willingness to travel across Europe.
- English required; German strongly preferred.
- EU work authorisation.
