Scope of the Role:

As a QA mechanical inspector you are required to help in the delivery of a zero defect / zero rework project. 

Our quality goal is “Zero snags at the time where the foreman announces that a system or part of a system in complete”.

You are required to help deliver your department goals in a forward looking and controlled manner.

 

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  •  Assist in the development of any project specific work procedures
  • Assist in the development of any project specific ITP’s.
  • Hold Quality Induction Workshops to promote awareness of the project specific requirements.
  • Conducts and records surveillance / in progress inspections of the Mechanical installations
  • Carry out interim installation line walks to ensure that the following are being carried out in accordance with the requirements of the relative specification.
  • Correct POC Identified
  • Latest drawings available
  • Supports installed as construction progresses
  • Labelling correct
  • Welding inspections carried out as required
  • Equipment installed as per P&ID
  • High point vents and low point drains installed as required
  • Correct bolt and gasket types being installed
  • Correct pipe shields installed as required
  •        Assists in final inspections with the construction supervisors as required.
  • Complete system handover walks with the client.
  • Assists with collation of documentation for the Construction Handover dossiers (i.e., QCC dossiers).
  • Inspection frequency as attached in specific ITP’s.
  • Quality Reporting (internal to Mercury Engineering):

 

Essential Criteria for the Role:

  • A relevant Third Level or Professional Qualification 
  • Ability to work well under pressure and within strict deadlines 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Good organisational and planning skills 
  • Excellent work and personal ethics that include trustworthiness, commitment, and empathy 
  • Confident, creative, and energetic approach to addressing all quality-related issues 
  • Ability to produce quality written reports 
  • Proficient in the use of MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
