Over a decade of OSM Experience is Helping Mercury Scale Delivery Across Europe
Now in its 14th year of operation, Mercury’s Offsite Manufacturing facility in Newbridge, Ireland continues to deliver complex prefabricated solutions for the Life Sciences and Semiconductor sectors.
Established in 2012 to support Semiconductor projects, the facility has since evolved, producing solutions for Life sciences and, more recently, supporting data centre manufacturing. Today, the facility plays an important role in Mercury’s wider Offsite Manufacturing strategy, providing the experience, technical expertise and product development that help strengthen delivery across Europe.
For Mike O’Dwyer, Program Manager for OSM, the facility’s greatest strength is the knowledge the team has built over more than a decade:
“The team in Newbridge has built exceptional technical expertise and manufacturing experience over the years. That depth of knowledge is one of Mercury’s greatest strengths. It’s now helping our state-of-the-art OSM hub in Schönebeck continue to grow, enabling us to scale delivery across Europe with confidence”
A Legacy of OSM Expertise
When Mercury’s OSM facility in Newbridge first opened in 2012, its focus was supporting Ireland’s growing semiconductor industry. Over the following fourteen years, the facility has evolved, expanding into Life Sciences and, more recently, supporting pilot manufacturing for Data Centre projects. Today, it delivers increasingly complex pipework, skids, spool pieces, isometrics and bespoke prefabricated solutions for some of the world’s leading pharmaceutical and semiconductor companies.
“It’s very varied,” says Sean McCarthy, Mechanical Supervisor at Mercury’s Newbridge facility. “Over the years we’ve evolved alongside our clients’ requirements. We’ve moved from manufacturing a standard range of products to delivering bespoke solutions.”
Whatever the client requires, we have the capability to deliver it.
That flexibility has become one of our defining strengths, enabling the Newbridge facility to support projects across Ireland and Europe while continually developing the technical expertise and manufacturing capability that strengthen Mercury’s wider Offsite Manufacturing strategy.
Enabling Mercury’s OSM capability Wherever Our Clients Operate
As Mercury continues to invest in its European Offsite Manufacturing capability, the Newbridge facility has taken on an increasingly important role. Mercury’s €25 million investment in its state-of-the-art OSM hub in Schönebeck, Germany, has significantly expanded the company’s manufacturing capability. Located in the heart of Europe, the 13,000m² facility can support project locations within 24 hours across 15 regions, strengthening Mercury’s ability to deliver complex projects with greater certainty, predictability and efficiency across Europe.
Scaling OSM Delivery Across Europe
Mercury’s investment in its state-of-the-art OSM hub in Schönebeck has significantly expanded the company’s manufacturing capability, but Mike is clear that manufacturing capacity alone is only part of the story.
Scaling successfully requires experience, proven processes and technical expertise, capabilities the Newbridge facility has spent its 14 years developing.
From supporting new product development and bespoke manufacturing to sharing technical expertise and helping establish best practice, the facility has become an important enabler of Mercury’s wider Offsite Manufacturing capability.
Working as companion facilities, the Newbridge facility and Mercury’s OSM hub in Schönebeck combine specialist technical expertise with large-scale manufacturing capability. Together, they enable Mercury to deliver industry-leading Offsite Manufacturing solutions across the life sciences, semiconductor and data centre sectors, strengthening the company’s ability to scale delivery across Europe with confidence.
