Inside Mercury’s new multimillion-euro OSM facility in Schönebeck, Germany
Mercury’s new Off-Site Manufacturing facility in Schönebeck, Germany strengthens our ability to deliver complex projects across Europe. As we continue to scale and invest in our European delivery capability, the facility brings engineering, manufacturing and digital delivery together in one location, helping clients achieve greater certainty, predictability and consistency across every stage of construction.
Located in the heart of Europe, the facility includes 13,000 square metres of production space and 200 purpose-built office spaces. Mercury’s OSM hub enables engineering solutions to be delivered to project locations within 24 hours across 15 regions while supporting long-term growth across the data centre, life sciences and semiconductor sectors.
This impressive new facility represents a major strategic investment for Mercury as part of the company’s five-year strategy, Go Beyond. An initial €25 million has been invested, with the potential for the total investment to rise to €45 million in a planned second phase of development.
Michael O’Dwyer, Program Manager for OSM is leading the mobilisation of Mercury’s new hub following nearly 30 years working with leading high-tech manufacturing companies. He is focused on growing a diverse and capable team that will deliver a broad range of products from the facility, maximising its long-term benefit to Mercury and its clients.
This facility is our state-of-the-art strategic base for OSM – It gives us the capability to deliver complex, high-value work efficiently and predictably.
Off-site Manufacturing: Mercury’s World Class USP
From Schönebeck, Mercury produces high-spec modular assemblies, including carbon and stainless-steel pipework, sprinkler systems, and high-purity process infrastructure across data centres, life sciences, and semiconductor sectors. This approach enables faster project timelines, improved precision, reduced site congestion, and measurable progress toward more sustainable construction practices.
Our innovative, in-house manufacturing capability is led from this state-of-the-art OSM headquarters in the epicentre of Europe and supported by our long-established facility in Newbridge, Ireland. Backed by more than a decade of OSM expertise and experienced engineering and manufacturing teams, our integrated approach, from early DFMA through production, brings greater predictability, control and consistency to project delivery, enabling Mercury to scale operations across Europe.
This integrated approach enables manufacturing and construction activities to progress in parallel, improving quality, reducing pressure on site and giving clients greater certainty, consistency and control throughout project delivery.
In an increasingly competitive market, this investment gives Mercury and its clients a distinct advantage. This facility is vital to our expansion plans across Europe and a key enabler of our long-term strategic vision.
Maximising Delivery, Consistency and Productivity Across Europe
Mercury’s investment in its Off-Site Manufacturing facility in Schönebeck brings engineering, manufacturing and digital delivery together under one roof, helping deliver greater consistency, precision and scalability across every stage of construction.
