Mercury is delighted to have reached a significant milestone in creating the foundation for the CPH3 Data Centre in Copenhagen for Interxion: A Digital Realty Company. Mercury is delivering this project utilising a mix of local and international supply chain partners.

This is the biggest onshore pour in Denmark, with 4.347m3 poured in just 25 hours (173m3/h).

John Young, Project Manager said, “Well done to everyone in our Mercury, supply chain, and client teams who worked together to make this fantastic achievement possible. This concrete pour is likely to be one of the largest in Europe in 2021. At Mercury, we are committed to always delivering while maintaining very high levels of safety and quality, and this work is a clear demonstration of those values in action”.

Mercury’s Shell & Core supply chain partner MT Højgaard expertly organised and executed the pour under the management of Mercury’s project team led by Project Manager John Young, while Unicon, the concrete supplier, organised the logistics for the trucks and concrete factories and the quality control of the concrete.

Other key Mercury personnel delivering the project include Tony Duddy, Managing Director of Data Centres & Building Services, Alan Clinton, Operations Director, Colin Keane, Business Unit Manager, and Darren O’Brien, Commercial Manager.

Mercury is the prime contractor on the project and is currently delivering all external Civil, Structural & Architectural (CSA) works in addition to the shell and core. This is Mercury’s first project in Denmark as a prime contractor, and we are excited to be delivering this for our existing client Interxion, helping them to build the foundation for the digital future.

The new Interxion CPH3 datacentre is being built adjacent to Interxion’s existing data centre campus in Ballerup, Copenhagen, Denmark. Interxion’s campus is one of the best-connected data centres in Denmark giving direct access to more than 60 carriers, 4 internet exchanges, and all leading cloud platforms.
