Mercury delivers essential works at Aghada Power Station

Mercury’s TSS team recently completed an asset separation of T2011/T2012 generator step up transformers and a 220kv substation in Aghada, Co Cork.

This aim of this project was to to implement a standard interface policy for Independent Power Provider’s (IPPs).

Works undertaken included the installation of a new protection interface panel and new interface points between the 220kv compound and T2011/T2012 and other related electrical and safety management works.

Works began in February and electrical works concluded at the start of June with the two units now synchronized to the grid.

This is the 5th separation project our TSS has completed for the ESB.
