Mercury sponsors Datacloud Ireland 2019 in Dublin
Mercury is a sponsor at Datacloud Ireland 2019 in Dublin. Members of Mercury’s team discussed the future of the data centre sector with a large number of industry leaders. Mercury’s team included Stephen Byrne, Data Centre Business Development Manager; Eamonn O’Kane, Sales & Marketing Director; Alan Gorman, Managing Director, Enterprise Data Centres & Building Services; and Paul Carthy, Director of Data Centre Business Development.
The event took place on 18th June at the Conrad, Dublin and comprised a number of visionary presentations, brainstorming and high-impact networking opportunities.
Mercury’s Stephen Byrne also took part in a panel discussion with the theme ‘disruption within the data centre: new approaches to sustainable, efficient design‘. The session explored how innovative new approaches are enabling mission critical infrastructures to become smarter, greener and more efficient. Members of the panel asked the question, “From rumours of the floating data centre to the underwater project from Microsoft, how are operators leveraging natural environments and unconventional designs to create a new breed of data centres fit for a greener future? Other panel speakers included Mark Hohlen, Principal, Superstruct; Amy Daniell, Director, Advise DC; and Colin Kelly, Country Lead, Ireland, K2 Data Centres.
