Mercury scales delivery across Europe with opening of €25 million Offsite Manufacturing Facility in Schöenebeck, Germany
Last week Mercury made significant progress in our plans to scale our delivery across Europe, in line with our Go Beyond strategy goals, with the opening of our state-of-the-art Off-Site Manufacturing and Engineering facility in the centre of Europe.
The facility, located in Schöenebeck Germany, spans 13,000 square metres of production space and 200 purpose-built offices, where our teams will deliver leading-edge, repeatable systems. This will ensure greater efficiency and consistency in our work across Europe and drive scalability across each stage of construction.
It also allows us to deliver engineering solutions direct to project locations within 24 hours across 15 regions and supports our focus on operating to consistent standards across each stage of construction- championing a critical path approach. The facility will ensure that we maximise our engineering, production, digital and European delivery experience to provide efficient, consistent and controlled results for clients.
The opening of the facility was marked with a special event on April 2nd which was attended by local media, business and government representatives, our partner company Max Boegl, Mercury OSM teams and senior management. The honourable Sven Schulze, Prime Minister Saxony-Anhalt, Markus Bauer, District Administrator, and Bert Knoblauch, Mayor of Schöenebeck, all delivered welcome addresses. Those in attendance also took part in a tour.
An investment in fulfilling our clients’ visions, our enhanced capabilities in Schöenebeck will enable efficient project timelines, improved precision and safety, reduced site congestion and measurable progress towards more sustainable construction practices.
Michael O’Dwyer, Program Manager for OSM, has led the mobilisation of the facility following nearly 30 years working with leading high-tech manufacturing companies. He noted “As our hub for mainland Europe, this facility gives us the capability to deliver complex, high-value work efficiently and predictably. It reflects how we continue to strengthen Mercury’s reputation as a world-class business.”
CEO Eoin Vaughan commented “Our new OSM facility in Schöenebeck is a major investment in our ability to deliver complex projects with confidence, predictability, and at scale. By uniting our engineering, Off-Site Manufacturing and digital delivery teams under one roof, we ensure precision and consistency across every stage of construction. I’d like to thank our people across the Group and our supply chain partners for their efforts in delivering this leading-edge facility. We are proud to become part of the local community here in Schöenebeck and support the region’s exciting growth.”
