Mercury recently completed our Making Safety Personal™ ‘Lite’ training on a data centre project in Paris, France.

Delivered by Group EHS Director, Michael O’Connor, alongside EHS Lead, Sean Laverty, this training exercise is interactive in nature and provides attendees with long-term benefits while improving project safety performance and culture.

Feedback from attendees has been very insightful, with a number of positive observations made.

One attendee noted that the course ‚opened his eyes‘ to the potential impacts that a workplace accident could have on his family and highlighted the importance of seeking alternative solutions to carrying out high-risk activities.

A number of attendees reflected upon the importance of returning home safely from work every day and commented on how their employment is vital to financially supporting their families and as such has benefitted from Mercury’s dedication to the highest safety standards.

Reflecting on the exercise, one attendee stated: „The feedback we gave to course coordinators and the Mercury safety team has really been taken on board and now I feel safer and more confident at work. I want to be an advocate for safety on this project and have committed to passing on safety messages to co-workers. I can’t bear to think about the consequences of myself or a colleague suffering an injury at work, that could affect their family life.“
