Mental Health Awareness Week Highlights Mercury’s Commitment to Wellbeing
Mercury marked Mental Health Awareness Week with a programme of events focused on supporting the physical, mental and financial wellbeing of our people.
The week brought together a range of respected voices from across the wellbeing sector. Mental health advocate Chris Connolly of Get Better with Chris visited Mercury to share his personal experience of mental health and recovery before leading a Darkness Into Light walk with employees. Colleagues also participated in sessions delivered by Redicare, Ask Paul, Aware and neuroscientist and resilience specialist Dr Brian Pennie, covering topics including physical health, financial wellbeing, resilience and mental wellbeing.
Commenting on the week’s activities, Niamh Gilmore, Health and Wellbeing Coordinator at Mercury, said:
We wanted to give our people access to some of the most respected voices in wellbeing, resilience and mental health. It was fantastic to see such strong engagement throughout the week, reinforcing the value of creating opportunities for people to connect, learn and have open conversations about wellbeing.
At Mercury, we believe that a safe place to work is a safe place to talk. Creating opportunities for people to connect, learn and access support remains an important part of fostering a workplace where employees feel secure, supported and empowered to reach their full potential.
