On Tuesday, 12 March 2019, Mercury hosted a stand at the ‘Women in Apprenticeship’ Open Day at TU Dublin’s Linenhall Campus. While there, we spoke to school groups, community agencies and members of the public about the opportunities for women in apprenticeships at Mercury. Attendees were given the opportunity to speak with Katy McGeady, an 1st year electrical apprentice and Donna Moloney, one of Mercury’s Data Technicians, to understand the apprenticeship opportunities available at Mercury.

The event also included a welcome from TU Dublin Dean Professor Gerry Farrell as well as an address from a young woman who began her career as an electrical apprentice before progressing to complete an engineering degree in DIT.

Apprenticeships at Mercury

Mercury is the largest employer of mechanical and electrical apprentices in Ireland. The development, training and mentoring apprentices receive while with us is unparalleled in the marketplace. Apprentices enjoy a varied four years’ training in areas from oil and gas, commercial, pharmaceutical and manufacturing. On completion of the apprenticeship, Mercury commit to taking a number of exceptional newly qualified tradespeople back into the business to develop their career further with us.
