Go Beyond – Our Planet, Our Duty
Mercury is looking to recruit an ESG Data and Reporting Lead to join their growing Sustainability team in Dublin to help deliver “Our Planet, Our Duty,” our Sustainability strategy which is a pillar within our “Go Beyond” strategy. The purpose of this role is to help Mercury deliver its sustainability objectives to enable our ambitious growth plans. The successful candidate will support our project teams and sustainability WBS owners to deliver successful initiatives across our operations. We are looking for an ambitious candidate who can grow and achieve their career goals with Mercury.
Role responsibilities:
Reporting to the Group Sustainability Director, the ideal candidate should have a passion for delivering strategic initiatives in a dynamic company operating across Europe. The primary responsibilities are as follows:
- Support the Group Sustainability Director in scoping, designing, and building out Mercury’s Sustainability strategy, “Our Planet, Our Duty.”
- Lead Mercury’s ESG Data and Reporting strategy, including program design, setting goals, identifying priorities, and developing and implementing programs and initiatives.
- Benchmark Mercury strategic sustainability ambitions against best-in-class industry across all stakeholders; clients, competitors, investors, and others.
- Lead responses to CDP, Ecovadis, and annual Sustainability Reports aligned with CSRD & GRI.
- Coordinate data processes and timelines for responses to bids, tenders, and supplier requests.
- Proactive identification of issues, risks, opportunities, and trends that may impact the company from an ESG and corporate responsibility perspective.
- Ensure all “Our Planet, Our Duty” initiatives are scoped & aligned against the ESG framework so we progress in the right direction, can track progress in a clear manner.
- Across our Environment, Social, and Governance strategies ensure our Sustainability WBS owners’ delivery and execution of projects; plans, schedules, budgets and performance KPIs to ensure all activities are integrated effectively.
- Support Sales team in developing clear articulate content for both prequals and tenders that aligns with our client pre-qual requirements.
- Help ensure that our sustainability objectives are hardwired into our annual business plans, CPMs and performance of Senior Leaders
Desirable Experience & Skills
- 4-5 years experience in business, strategy, or sustainability in the AEC sector.
- Experience working on programs requiring engagement with stakeholders across an international organization.
- Strong knowledge of business strategy ESG concepts, models, and frameworks preferred
- Knowledge of the construction sector and project environment is not essential.
- Very strong technical skills in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, macros, etc.). Experience with Tableau, Power BI, and data visualization is a plus.
- Good critical judgement and ability to solve problems quickly & effectively.
- Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational skills.
- Be energetic, creative, delivery focused and passionate.
- Excellent communication & persuasion skills.
- Resilient with a can-do attitude.
Your Qualifications:
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Business, Strategy, or Sustainability
