An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager. Reporting to the Business Applications Manager, the Project Manager will be involved the implementation of a range of IT projects of varying complexity.

The successful candidate will facilitate business change, improvement, and efficiency by identifying opportunities for innovation and process re-engineering, resolving issues, coordinating & leading multiple project deliverables simultaneously.

 

Responsibilities

 

The daily activities will vary depending on business requirements. It can be expected the scale and complexity of the projects will vary widely, therefore the extent of the deliverables of the project manager will be determined based on a project-by-project basis. However, the following describes a typical workload, but it is not an exhaustive list of activities:

  • Support the process of business change, improvement, and efficiency by working with business leaders, process owners and relevant stakeholders to implement solutions based on business needs.
    • Guide and challenge the business to ensure project related decisions are appropriate.
    • Identify opportunities for innovation and process re-engineering.
    • Creative thinking to deliver proposed solutions to meet new or changed business requirements.
    • Negotiate project associated commercial proposals.
  • End-to-end project implementation ownership including
    • Leading workshops with the business and consultancy partners
    • Developing suitable project plans & project related documentation (such as risk registers, cut-over plans, change request requirements documentation etc)
    • Secure required resources for project success
    • Manage project related budget or commercial proposals.
    • Develop & oversee implementation of appropriate change management planning.
    • Ensure appropriate test plans, scripts and cycles are conducted.
    • Post project activities
  • Drive project success and monitor progress of project
    • Identify required actions & assign to appropriate project team resources.
    • Provide guidance to project resources & stakeholders.
    • Ensure project admin & governance tasks are maintained.
    • Identify & overcome blockers to success.
    • Proactively manage project risks.
  • Guide the business in strategic vision preparation:
    • Attend workshops, offering solution & advice.
    • Assist in commercial negotiation & budget approval.
    • Advise on resource requirements for project success prior to project initiation.
  • Remain current on emerging technologies and trends.

 

Skill Sets and Experience

 

This position seeks an experienced project manager with the following experiences and ability:

  • 3-5 years’ experience leading IT project implementations
  • Prior business analysis experience is deemed a distinct advantage.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation and organisation skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills with financial business acumen.
  • Proven track record of consistent high-quality delivery.
  • Ability to influence without direct leadership and address conflict resolution.
  • Ability to produce high quality documentation.
  • Project Management qualification is not required, however a distinct advantage.
  • Change management experience is a distinct advantage.
  • Willing to take ownership of tasks and driven to constantly go the extra mile to see them completed successfully.
