Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Assisting in preparation for the timely and accurate completion of all periodic VAT filings of the Mercury Group.
- Interact with project teams to provide information and advice on VAT aspects of multi-jurisdictional construction projects.
- The provision of ad-hoc VAT advice to management teams to facilitate appropriate planning across various jurisdictions. Where necessary and approved, liaise with our professional advisors to assist in this regard.
- Assisting in completion of reconciliations of VAT returns to general ledgers
- Assisting in completion of year end VAT audit schedules for external auditors
- Assist Finance team with management of other Tax Heads e. g. Withholding taxes
- Participate in process improvement projects plus any ad-hoc projects required.
- All other duties associated with this role.
Essential Criteria for the Role:
- 2+ years experience working in an indirect tax or multi-disciplinary tax role
- VAT returns experience
- Must be proficient in the basics of Excel
