Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- In conjunction with advisors, assisting in preparation of timely and accurate multi-jurisdictional periodic VAT filings of the Mercury Group.
- Interact with project teams to provide information and advice on VAT aspects of multi-jurisdictional construction projects.
- The provision of ad-hoc VAT advice to management teams to facilitate appropriate planning across various jurisdictions. Where necessary and approved, liaise with our professional advisors to assist in this regard.
- Assisting in completion of reconciliations of VAT returns to general ledgers
- Assisting in completion of year end VAT audit schedules for external auditors
- Assist the broader tax team with other aspects of tax risk management where appropriate.
- Participate in process improvement projects plus any ad-hoc projects required.
- Assisting in preparation and delivery of VAT training to internal recipients
- All other duties associated with this role
Requirements:
- Ideally a candidate would have a minimum of 2 years’ experience either in a VAT role or a role where VAT played a significant part in their day-to-day tasks
- Good working knowledge of Excel
- Knowledge of SAP or other relevant ERP systems a benefit but not a requirement
- Appropriate trainings will be provided.
