Championing Information Security in Construction: Our journey towards ISO27001 certification
Cybersecurity is a growing challenge across the world, but particularly in the construction industry which is becoming increasingly reliant on digital connectivity. Mercury was recently accredited with the ISO certification for ISO27001 in Information Security which is the world’s leading standard for information security management.
This achievement gives Mercury a competitive advantage as we continue to operate at the leading edge of industry. The ISO27001 certification benefits organisations by improving their management of information assets thus contributing to reduce the overall vulnerability of the growing threat of cyber-attacks which, in turn, bolsters the ability to respond to evolving security risks, and providing a centrally managed framework that secures all information in one place. It also assists with increasing efficiency by preparing people, processes, and technology throughout the business to face threats to information of all kinds.
Our team led a comprehensive audit process as well as introducing several crucial mandatory trainings, policies, and workshops across the group over the past few months, relating to information security practices. The certification recognises that we maintain the correct policies, processes, and procedures for information security.
