Driven by digital excellence, Mercury is engineering the future.
Mercury’s Digital Transformation team is driving a culture of innovation to ensure our project teams are supported to deliver our clients’ visions efficiently and to the highest standards. Mercury’s new digital construction management environment, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) was launched earlier this month and is set to enhance data insights, collaboration, efficiency and client engagement in a single connected platform.
The team has led the introduction of ACC on all new Mercury projects across business units in different sectors and regions. ACC is a cloud-based construction management platform that will make project data more accessible than ever, improving workflows and solutions to ensure we meet the evolving requirements of our clients.
Thomas White, Group Head of Commissioning and Digital Project Delivery notes, “The introduction of ACC on our projects will ensure consistency and standardisation across business units. This new system will be a central point for our project teams to collaborate in real time and gain enhanced visibility across all stages of projects.” He continues, “ACC will also give our teams stronger data accuracy, and this will ultimately better equip us to meet client requirements.” Improved data insights will be of particular advantage to business units, allowing for enhanced trend visibility in real time. This equips Mercury’s management across Data Centres, Life Sciences, and other sectors to develop processes and mitigate delays or issues from evolving.
The Digital Transformation team was involved in an extensive development and implementation process, collaborating with all group department stakeholders to gather functional requirements, complete necessary user acceptance testing and building a best-in-class environment template that could be replicated across business units. The team also developed specific ACC Standard Operating Procedures and special training content. Pre-launch, the team onboarded four different projects, with all team members trained successfully. This groundwork informed the onboarding process going forward and helped to ensure that the platform is best suited to support operations teams upon launch. All teams will receive a two-day training and onboarding session by the Digital Transformation team.
Thomas continues, “I’d like to thank Graham Rooney, Group Digital Transformation Lead and the Digital Transformation team for their outstanding efforts in supporting our construction teams in making the transition to ACC as seamless as possible. I’d also like to give a big thanks to Autodesk and NTI for their support with development and licencing, and we look forward to seeing the positive outcomes of this exciting new system.”
