Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Responsible for all aspects of sprinkler design, including hydraulic calculations, shop drawing preparation, stock listing.
  • Design and layout of fire protection systems to meet LPC/NFPA/FM criteria
  • Coordinate piping layout with other trades.
  • Review and production of detailed fire protection Schematics such as Fire Sprinkler Protection, Foam enhanced Fire Protection, Gas Protection, Firewater Mist Protection, Insert Gas Protection & Special Hazard Fire Protection
  • Mentoring of junior BIM engineering staff.
  • Preparation of design drawings covering all aspects of mechanical elements.
  • Liaise and co-ordinate with members of the client’s team.
  • Creation of installation/construction & fabrication drawings.
  • Attend technical / project meetings via teams/zoom calls.
  • Assist with the preparation of technical documentation for issue of tenders and construction.
  • Close out of all project items, and review any lessons learned.
  • Prepare hydraulic calculations and project submittal drawings
  • To produce 3D Deliverables using Revit.
  • Skills with AutoCAD, Revit and related software
  • Knowledge of AEC disciplines, MEP, architectural and structural standards
  • Should be able to work with other disciplines and work collaboratively with other designers, engineers and architects and clients to convert information into layout designs, drawings and models using REVIT and AutoCAD.
  • Decipher information received from various formats (sketches, BIM Execution Plans, Architectural drawings)
  • Demonstrate strong understanding and experience in delivering LOD 200 to 400 BIM model using BIM Software

 

 

Essential Criteria for the Role:

  • Proficient at communication & written English.
  • Competent working knowledge of applicable standards
  • Ability to read and effectively interpret architectural/engineering plans, schematics, design drawings, etc.
  • Must be proficient in Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Experience in working on UK, Irish or European projects.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, 2D AutoCAD and Revit MEP design software such as AutoSPRINK or similar software with a minimum of five years of experience modelling these systems.
  • Ability to extract BOQs and fabrication drawings from Revit.
  • Must be responsible, pay attention to detail personable, data-driven, detail-oriented, and self-motivated with solid organisation and time management skills that lead to timely completion of projects
  • Experience in working on large commercial fire protection systems
  • Management of Project Schedule.
  • Must be capable of performing Clash detection using Navisworks and Revit interference check, export Clash reports, review clash reports etc.

 

Desirable Criteria:

  • Knowledge of BIM 360 will be an added advantage
  • Previous similar English work environment an advantage.
  • Some experience of working on a construction site will be advantageous however not mandatory
  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering would be advantage.
