Wafer Fabrication Facility, Confidential Client
Wafer Fabrication, Clean-room & Scope of Work
Mercury Engineering were contracted to complete the strip out provided approximately 100,000 sq ft of clean-room fabrication space on the site.
The intent of this project was to strip out the basebuild services in F14 after the completion of the Tool De-install.
In addition to the Subfab, Fabrication and Clean-room conversion, the overall project scope included upgrades to the Central Utilities Building (CUB) and a Process Support Building (PSB).
While the scope of this project excludes Tool de-install back to Point of Connection (POC), the project does include for demolition and removal of all other parts of the systems.
The Project also includes for the installation of Process Specific Support Services (PSSS) for its fabrication abilities.
A clean-room is an environment, typically used in manufacturing, fabrication or scientific research, with a low level of environmental pollutants such as dust, airborne microbes, aerosol particles, and chemical vapors. More accurately, a clean-room has a controlled level of contamination that is specified by the number of particles per cubic meter at a specified particle size.
In the pharmaceutical industry, clean rooms play a crucial role in the manufacturing of pharmaceutical products which are required to be free from microbial and particulate contamination and required to be protected from moisture. Such pharmaceutical products are manufactured and manipulated in clean-rooms, which are fitted with HEPA and, if required, ULPA filters as well as dehumidifier systems.
