Mercury were awarded the M&E contract for the Royal Albert Docks [RAD] project in London’s docklands. The project involved the construction of over 430,000m2 of primarily commercial plus residential space on the former wharves site, located in E16 directly opposite the London City Airport, within the Borough of Newham. The full RAD Phase 1 saw the construction of 5 Plots including all associated public realm, roads and infrastructure, along with the refurbishment of the Listed buildings located on 2 plots.
The Works under the Project also included the construction of a temporary Central Energy Centre and substantial temporary works on Bidder Square.
The buildings comprised of multi-story concrete framed commercial properties, with glass and masonry facades.
This was a landmark project for the Docklands area of London and one which Mercury was proud to have been involved in.
