For the second installment of this year’s Visa Interview Series, we spoke to Maximo Castillo who works as a CSA Supervisor on a data centre project in Berlin, Germany.<\/p>\n

Maximo, who originally hails from Nueva Ecija in the\u00a0Philippines, joined our team in October 2021, and highlights the benefits and support systems associated with Mercury\u2019s visa application process.<\/p>\n

Can you tell us a bit about your background?<\/h4>\n

\u201cI am a qualified civil engineer and have been employed in the construction industry for the past fifteen years and have specialised in working on power plants and industrial projects like data centres.\u201d<\/p>\n

How did you first hear about Mercury?<\/h4>\n

\u201cI first heard about Mercury through a former colleague who had been working with the company for quite some time.\u201d<\/p>\n

How long have you been working with us?<\/h4>\n

\u201cI started my role with Mercury in October 2021.\u201d<\/p>\n

How was your experience getting a visa\/work permit?<\/h4>\n

\u201cIn my experience, getting a work permit can take considerable time when coming from a non-European country. In my case, I am from the Philippines, and it took around four months from application to completion. Mercury has been very accommodating and supportive throughout the entire process and were a great help in securing my work permit. It must be noted that this work was carried out throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

Would you recommend other people from abroad to work with Mercury in Germany?<\/h4>\n

\u201cIn these challenging and digitally focused times, Mercury is an ideal company to work for. Mercury is a very supportive and innovative employer, and I would recommend others to join us as we continue to build for the future. Germany as most people know, is a great place to work and live and with Mercury there is plenty of opportunity for career development and personal growth.\u201d<\/p>\n
