We are delighted to renew our Visa Interview series which focuses on our people, who have received visas to come and work with us on projects throughout Europe.<\/p>\n

The first interview of our 2022 series focuses on Daniel Cohim. A native of Brazil, Daniel joined Mercury in September 2021 and is currently working as a Mechanical Package Manager on a data centre project in Frankfurt, Germany.<\/p>\n

Mercury is currently recruiting for over 200 positions throughout Europe. Last year we hired people of 31 different nationalities. With operations spanning across more than 12 global locations, and 6,500 people under our management now is an exciting time to join our ever-growing team.<\/p>\n

Can you tell us a bit about your background?<\/h4>\n

„I am a qualified mechanical engineer and have been employed in the construction industry for the past sixteen years, mainly working on large oil and gas projects.“<\/p>\n

How did you first hear about Mercury? How long have you been working for us?<\/h4>\n

„I first heard about Mercury from some old friends and colleagues who currently work for the company. They told me some great things about Mercury and I did some research on the company’s website and LinkedIn page before realising that we shared the same values and thoughts. I’ve now been working happily with Mercury for the past seven months.“<\/p>\n

How was your experience getting a visa \/ work permit?<\/h4>\n

„Once you have all of the requested documents the process is quite straight forward and fast. I was put in touch with a work permit specialist, and with his and Mercury’s support, we were able to get all of the required documentation within a couple of weeks.“<\/p>\n

„The only issue was that my visa application took place during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. At the time, all German consulates in Brazil were closed and this made what should have been an easy process, a tougher one. When the consulates re-opened, things moved at a very fast pace. I booked myself the first appointment available where I delivered the documents, had a quick interview and then waited to receive my work permit.“<\/p>\n

„Once in Germany there were a few more steps and documents required to get a blue card. Due to the pandemic, it took longer than expected, but once again I was very well assisted, with all doubts and concerns sorted. While the pandemic made things harder, overall it was a very clear and simple path. The support and directions I received from Mercury was brilliant and I was very well taken care of.“<\/p>\n

Would you recommend other people from abroad to work with Mercury in Germany<\/h4>\n

„For sure, no doubts! Germany is a great place to live. It’s very safe with many places to explore. From my experience, Mercury is a great company to work for. Their values do not exist only on paper, but are practiced every day. We have brave people from all over the world, who make up a great team, all working together towards the same goals, with a really respectful working environment. Mercury deserves its great reputation and is always looking for new employees. There are so many opportunities for career development!“<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
