Mercury is delivering the Colt DCS<\/a> Frankfurt West<\/a> data centre project using a variety of modern methods of construction, including digital construction.<\/p>\n

Set to complete in Q4 2021, this hyperscale facility will offer 25 MW of IT power spread across 10,000m\u00b2 of space. Designed to an annual PUE of 1.22, powered by renewable energy, and capable of supporting high power rack densities, Frankfurt West \u00a0is a great option for customers looking for scalable premises to support their offsite efficiency, sustainability and growth strategies.<\/p>\n

Mercury will be using the RealWear<\/a> helmet for Frankfurt West, allow site-based staff and remote staff to participate together in team meetings, site coordination meetings and periodical health & safety walks. With Mercury\u2019s staff based across over ten countries in EMEA, the ability to work remotely and collaborate across borders has been essential to delivering projects throughout the pandemic where there have been restrictions on global travel for the almost 18 months.<\/p>\n

The product will be utilised further as the Frankfurt West project reaches the commissioning stage. RealWear will enable Mercury to seek the assistance of suppliers during the assembly of plant in order to continue delivering a world-class hyperscale data centre for Colt DCS with no disruption due to global events.<\/p>\n

What is\u00a0RealWear?<\/h5>\n

RealWear is a head-mounted, voice-activated smart tablet that\u2019s designed for use on construction sites. It enables the user to share what they\u2019re seeing via a \u2018teams\u2019 call with users all over the world.<\/p>\n

Mercury has been piloting RealWear on 11 sites across 10 different countries in Europe to connect our management teams to site. Some applications include remote client walks, safety, and quality audits, FOAK approvals and remote assistance.<\/p>\n

While travel restrictions have been a catalyst for this project, the use of RealWear can reduce travel requirements long term, offering significant sustainability benefits.<\/p>\n
