{"id":3830,"date":"2020-03-26T11:46:57","date_gmt":"2020-03-26T11:46:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mercuryeng.com\/?p=3830"},"modified":"2020-03-26T11:47:42","modified_gmt":"2020-03-26T11:47:42","slug":"mercury-featured-in-lean-construction-irelands-annual-book-of-cases-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mercuryeng.com\/de\/2020\/03\/26\/mercury-featured-in-lean-construction-irelands-annual-book-of-cases-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"Mercury features in Lean Construction Ireland&#8217;s Annual Book of Cases 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mercury recently featured in the Lean Construction Ireland Annual Book of Cases 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The Lean Construction Ireland Book of Cases provides examples from across the Irish Construction sector where organisations and companies, both public and private, have delivered real tangible value and benefits by adopting Lean thinking and practices as part of the project delivery process.<\/p>\n<p>Mercury has long been an advocate of Lean and has been implementing its principles into work practices for many years.<\/p>\n<p>Lean has always been something we strive for and our default position is if there\u2019s an activity or a task that we\u2019re going to perform for our client, safely, we\u2019re always trying to make it happen better, faster, or smarter.<\/p>\n<p>We have a Lean programme at Mercury called \u201cLeaders in Lean\u201d where once a week a great idea from a construction site is shared across all our staff which comprises 2000 people spread out over 10 countries.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, we\u2019ve recently re-commenced our Yellow Belt programme and are currently in the process of implementing a Green Belt programme as part of our drive towards Kaizen or continuous improvement of our employees so as to ensure the maximum value is added within each and every one of our projects.<\/p>\n<p>Approximately one third of our people have been trained to date to either Yellow or Green Belt level.<\/p>\n<p>Mercury&#8217;s Operations Risk, Compliance and Quality Group Manager Shay Lacey was appointed to the board of LCI in April of last year.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/leanconstructionireland.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Amended-LCi-Book-of-Cases-2019.pdf\">You can read the full report here.<\/a><\/p>\n<h4>LEAN AT MERCURY \u2013 BETTER, FASTER, SMARTER<\/h4>\n<p>Mercury has long been an advocate of Lean and has been implementing its principles into work practices for many years.
