The Nordic region is now one of Europe\u2019s most important locations for new data centre development. Countries such as Finland offer a rare combination of reliable power, abundant renewable energy and a supportive policy environment, attracting significant investment from global technology companies seeking long-term infrastructure capacity.<\/p>\n

Mercury is expanding our presence in the Nordics to meet that growing demand. Over the past two decades our teams have delivered more than 200 data centre projects across Europe, working with many of the world\u2019s leading hyperscale and colocation providers.<\/p>\n

Under our Go Beyond strategy<\/a>, the Nordics\u00a0represents\u00a0our most significant regional growth opportunity.\u00a0We\u2019re\u00a0targeting \u20ac750M in revenue by 2029, and with over \u20ac250M delivered in 2025, we are firmly on track to achieve this goal.<\/p>\n

As Operations Director for Mercury in the Nordics, John Gallagher is leading the continued growth of our business across the region:<\/p>\n

Bringing Mercury\u2019s Proven European delivery model into the Nordics<\/h3>\n

Mercury has built one of the strongest data centre delivery records in Europe. In 2024 alone, our teams delivered approximately 15 percent of Europe\u2019s total data centre capacity, and over the past three years we have delivered 0.66 gigawatts of data centre capacity across the continent.<\/p>\n

Our European track record allows us to bring a proven delivery model into new markets as demand for digital infrastructure grows.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re delivering a leading-edge data centre project in Helsinki, one of the most advanced our teams have undertaken. It shows the trust our global clients place in Mercury to deliver here.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Investment in delivery capability is also a key part of how we support projects of this scale across Europe. We have invested \u20ac25 million in a state-of-the-art off-site manufacturing facility in Sch\u00f6nebeck, Germany<\/a>, with a second phase planned to bring the total investment to \u20ac45 million, giving us a significant delivery advantage as we support the next phase of data centre development in the Nordics.<\/p>\n

Building a long-term presence in the region also means investing in people. We are hiring<\/a> for new roles across our sites in these countries and are always looking for talented professionals at every stage of their careers. Mercury is currently recruiting graduates in Helsinki for its 2026 graduate programme, and we have been working with local universities and careers fairs to promote engineering careers and connect with emerging talent entering the industry.<\/p>\n

For Mercury, developing local talent is an important part of establishing a lasting presence in the Nordic market.<\/p>\n

Building Partnerships with Local Suppliers<\/h3>\n

As we grow across our sectors in Europe, our reputation as a preferred company to work with in our market precedes us. In the Nordics, we are focused on building strong partnerships with local suppliers, subcontractors and consultants, while continuing to engage with the local community and grow the resources needed to support long-term delivery.<\/p>\n

In Germany, where we delivered our first data centre project in 2013, we now work with more than 500 suppliers, subcontractors and consultants supporting project delivery.<\/p>\n

The same approach is now being applied in the Nordic market as Mercury continues to develop relationships with local partners and resources across the region.<\/p>\n

We are here for the long term. We want to work with the best companies the region has to offer as we continue to grow business here.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
