The Long Service Award Programme celebrates key milestones in our people\u2019s journeys at Mercury. Employees receive a Long Service Award when they reach a new milestone year (which are measured in 5-year increments from the employees\u2019 start date). Employees receive a special lapel pin, a certificate acknowledging their years of service, and a gift.<\/p>\n
Providing visible career development opportunities for our people is crucial and the Long Service Award recipients are testament to building an evolving career with Mercury that meets their personal goals and business needs.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Intrinsic to developing our people is providing meaningful training opportunities for employees across the business. Talent Development Manager, Dara Smith commented \u201cProviding visible career development opportunities for our people is crucial and the Long Service Award recipients are testament to building an evolving career with Mercury that meets their personal goals and business needs.\u201d He continues, \u201cOur development opportunities range from our Graduate Programme which helps our young people to launch their careers, to our leadership development programme which prepares senior employees for continued success, focusing on leadership and critical business subject areas.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jody Boyle, Electrical Estimating Manager, marked a major milestone last year<\/a> when the Long Service Programme first launched. Jody celebrated 50 years with Mercury in 2024. Having joined the company as an Electrical Apprentice in 1974, he\u2019s played an instrumental role in the company\u2019s growth. \u201cWe\u2019ve changed and adapted in a myriad different ways, but through our work on various kinds of projects we have learned a lot of new skills. This, combined with some positive structural changes over the past few years have set Mercury apart as an industry leader and I\u2019m proud to have been part of that journey\u201d he says.<\/p>\n
Jody has made remarkable growth with Mercury- from working directly with founders, Frank O\u2019Kane and Joe Morgan as an electrical apprentice to playing a key role on advanced projects in Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden and more. He notes that despite the evolving nature of the company\u2019s operations \u201cone thing that\u2019s stood out to me and it\u2019s the reason I\u2019ve stayed all this time, is that despite so much change, Mercury\u2019s values have remained inherent, that willingness to adapt, evolve and be leaders has always been there.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ann Hamilton-Lyons, Head of HR Operations commented, \u201cCongratulations to all who have received a Long Service Award over recent months. It\u2019s crucial that we acknowledge the contributions of our people, especially at crucial milestone markers.
