Today marks the beginning of Mercury\u2019s annual 12 Days of Christmas Safety campaign which runs on our projects across Europe to reinforce our Work Safe, Home Safe ethos ahead of the holiday season. Safety is at the bedrock of our delivery, training and processes and our Work Safe, Home Safe mindset is instilled in every individual, team, and rank throughout Mercury.<\/p>\n

In a fast-paced and demanding environment, we are duty-driven to ensure our people go home safe and well every day, and we want to ensure our team members remain switched on to safety over the coming weeks during a particularly busy time where distractions can come into play. At Mercury, safety goes beyond our projects. We\u2019re committed to supporting the physical, mental, and financial wellbeing of all our people, so that they can reach their potential professionally and pursue their personal passions too.<\/p>\n

Since its inception in 2011, this unique campaign has promoted the commitment of all Mercury people to the highest levels of health, safety and wellbeing on site, and the importance of applying this mindset to safety at home over the holiday period. As well as covering physical safety, our campaign this year emphasises the importance of psychological safety. Our teams will participate in practical demonstrations, toolbox talks, training sessions and presentations on site.<\/p>\n

The initiative will focus on key reminders for ensuring the highest levels of safety are in place at work over the coming weeks and will also provide helpful tips and guidance for how to remain safe and well over the festive period at home, a time that can present challenges for many. Topics covered include fire safety in the home, electrical Christmas light safety, safe driving and food hygiene.<\/p>\n

Speaking ahead of this year\u2019s campaign, Paul Murphy, Group Safety Manager commented, \u201cSafety is at the heart of everything we do at Mercury and we are proud to be running this campaign successfully for 14 years. We are committed to ensuring not only the physical wellbeing of our team, but also their mental health. This time of year can bring unique pressures, and we\u2019re here to support our people every step of the way. By fostering a culture of care and vigilance, we aim to ensure everyone returns home safe, happy and ready to enjoy the holidays with their loved ones.\u201d<\/p>\n
