The ceremony for the construction of Mercury\u2019s new engineering and offsite manufacturing facility<\/a> took place on October 17th. The 25,000 square meter property located in Sch\u00f6nebeck, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany will serve as a key OSM hub for the region.<\/p>\n

Mercury, the European leader in construction solutions, laid the foundation of its much anticipated OSM facility during an illustrious ceremony attended by the honourable Sven Schulze, Minister of Economic Affairs Saxony-Anhalt, key Mercury leaders, and representatives from partner company Max Boegl. Stefan Z\u00f6ller, \u00a0Managing Director of Advanced Technology, Patrick Hickey Dwyer, Head of Risk and Corporate Development at Mercury and Minister Schulze proudly addressed the attendees to mark the festivities and the importance of the facility for the local economy.<\/p>\n

Mercury has committed to a \u20ac25 million first phase investment\u00a0while the second phase of the facility development may see investment grow to \u20ac45 million. As Mercury\u2019s engineering hub for mainland Europe, the facility will deliver design, BIM, and value engineering services that will provide even greater support to its clients across the continent, and accelerate operations in the Life Sciences and Semiconductor sectors.<\/p>\n

Mercury CEO Eoin Vaughan commented, \u201cWe are proud to commence works on this state-of-the-art facility which shows our commitment to delivering excellence to our clients across Europe. This ceremony marks an important step in our strategic direction, and I am delighted to preside over this laying of the foundation ceremony.
