Trades to BIM Bridging Programme

The purpose of the Trades to BIM Bridging Programme is to move skilled tradespeople into a BIM role with Mercury. Mercury will be giving tradespeople the opportunity to receive training in this discipline as well as a professional position within Mercury upon successfully completing the two-year programme.

Places on the Trades to BIM Bridging Programme are awarded over a two-year period, following an interview with representatives from the HR Department and the BIM Department.

Eligibility to Apply:

  • Any qualified tradesperson employed by Mercury who has successfully completed their six-month probation period.
  • The applicant’s performance evaluation, absenteeism record and exam results will be reviewed in conjunction with the application.
  • The successful trainee must adhere to all current terms and conditions in the company.
  • A knowledge of computers is beneficial, especially the use of computer models in the field.

During the Traineeship Programme the trainee will receive training in the following areas:

  • AutoCad
  • Revit MEP
  • Navisworks
  • Other software as deemed necessary for the successful completion of the program

Trades to QS Bridging Programme

The purpose of the Trades to Quantity Surveying (QS) Bridging Programme is to move skilled tradespeople into a QS role with Mercury. Mercury will be giving tradespeople the opportunity to receive training in this discipline, as well as a professional position within Mercury upon successfully completing the two-year traineeship.

The traineeship will be awarded over a two-year period following an interview with representatives from the HR Department and the Quantity Surveying / Commercial Department.

Eligibility to Apply:

  • Any qualified tradesperson employed by Mercury who has successfully completed their six-month probation period.
  • The applicant’s performance evaluation, absenteeism record and exam results will be reviewed in conjunction with the application.
  • The successful trainee must adhere to all current terms and conditions in the company.

During the Traineeship Programme the trainee will receive training in the following areas:

  • Take offs and measurement
  • Development of rates
  • Subcontract Administration
  • Contract Administration
  • Cost control & forecasting
  • Performance and KPI appraisal

The programme will be designed to develop the employee to ensure they are more flexible, multi-skilled and knowledgeable to respond to the rapid changes in the Industry.
